Example TSS.0:  Suppose $y$ is a function of $x$ given by the equation $y = f (x) = 2x+ 3$.

The following table was created using a spreadsheet in Open Office.
You can download the spreadsheet by clicking here.

The top row was inserted as text. The entry in Row 2 Column A was inserted as a number.
The remaining entries were created using formulae such as  A3:  $=A2 - 1 $ and B2:  $ =2*A2+3$

The entries in this part of the spreadsheet were highlighted and then the chart wizard was used to create an XY(scatter) chart with Points Only.

Again the entries in this part of the spreadsheet were highlighted and the chart wizard was used to create an XY(scatter) chart.
Now choose the Points and Lines Option for the Chart Type.
At the Next step, select the Data Range using the Data series in rows.
Finish at this stage to give a mapping diagram which can be reshaped for convenience to a desired illustration.
