Graph
of your SS
(xxx-23-4xxx)
quadratic functions:
f(x)=
2x2 - 3x -4; g(x)= -2x2
- 3x +4
-
Find
intercepts, axis of symmetry, vertex point coordinates.
- (i)Find f(0) and Solve 2x2 - 3x -4= 0;
- (ii) Axis is X=-(-3)/(2*2) = 3/4;
- (iii) Vertex coordinates: (3/4, f(3/4)).
- Estimate f'(2) from the graph.
- Use Slider and secant.
- Use table.
- Use graph of difference quotient Q(x) = [f(2+x)-f(2)]/x and use x close to 0.
- Estimate f'(2) algebraically using the four step method.
